MEPL participants,

The MEPL staff has continued to monitor the impact of the COVID-19 virus in cooperation with each host locations public health department and the CDC.

Following tonight’s latest developments and the cancellation of most organized sporting events across the country; the MEPL has decided to cancel the upcoming weekend of scheduled play.

The decision, while disappointing, we believe to be in the best interest of our athletes, coaches, and spectators.

No make-up date has been discussed at this time.

Please make sure to pass this information along to your participating teams.

MEPL Participants,

For those inquiring about the MEPL and the Coronavirus precautions.

Please be aware that we are monitoring the situation and following the protocol of the CDC, USAV and AAU Volleyball.

AAU and USAV volleyball have been working closely with, Destinations International. This company represents large city Convention and Visitor Bureaus throughout the U.S. and world.

They have set-up an intelligence community with John Hopkins University to work hand-in-hand with the CDC to regulate and ensure safe travel (CLICK HERE for the COVID-19 Travel Industry Page).

Destinations Travel and the CDC are NOT asking persons to cancel their everyday plans. Instead, they are asking each individual to use common sense and good hygiene measures to ensure the safety of all citizens.

They are asking those that are attending work and large mass events to follow the following steps.

  1. Stay home if you are sick
  2. Cover your cough and sneezes with a tissue, then throw in the trash can immediately.
  3. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  4. Avoid touching your nose, eyes, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  5. Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects on a daily basis.
  6. Limit food sharing
  7. Use large spaces for groups of people with good ventilation.

You can find all of these steps and more by CLICKING HERE to be taken directly to the CDC website.

I can assure you that all MEPL facilities and hotels are taking the proper steps to clean their facilities daily.

Door handles and knobs are being bleached. Counters and bleachers are being wiped down and floors are being cleaned on a daily basis.

We will continue to monitor the situation and in the event that the status of participation is to change we will make sure to let all of our patrons know.

Thanks & safe travels,

MEPL
